Part three of the series ‘Vampire Valentines’.
I heart U.
model – Kneely
This begins my trio set of ‘Vampire Valentines’. The remainder should be out by February, 2012.
Heartbreaker.
As noted in the previous post, I did finish it today. Yesterday was spent splattering blood all over the piece (although not once did I actually splatter, but rather painted each bit to simulate such). Having never savagely slaughtered a wolf with an axe, I cannot say whether the blood is accurate, both in design and in quantity, but I do feel it gets the point across without question. This is quite the diversion from my more typical cute cheesecake, but it’s nice to clear the mental palette from time to time.
Red:1 Wolf:0.
I got through all the detail work today. Mostly done with colored pencils, a few times I brought out the turpenoid and brush for finer detail and blending. To add a little extra for the original, I dotted the shoes with metallic red oil pastel so they’ll sparkle in the light (prints will not have this affect, unless I offer a special edition).
The name was difficult – either it’s short and not completely descriptive, or very long (more of a sentence than a name). I went with the former, hoping the image itself will tell the story.
Since it’s such a large piece, the scanning took a while, but I now have it complete and ready here.
