Gil Elvgren did a version of this design decades ago, his girl reaching up for an apple, dressed in red and yellow (titled “Good Pickin’s”). I don’t doubt I had seen the image before, but it certainly wasn’t in the forefront of my mind as I designed it.

I have a whole list of concepts in the works, some seemingly close to ready, yet none hit that final step that I feel they need to get there. I’m not sure what’s going on, perhaps I’m trying too hard to push myself to a new level, or my creativity is simply low, but nothing is working out so far this week. I really hope I find one this weekend, though.
